Norland Square

Holland Park, West London

This is a small roof terrace in the middle of Holland Park, London. Although it was well used by the owner there had been an ad-hoc approach to planting and furniture and this had begun to limit the use of the space.

It was decided that we would gain the most value from spending the budget on the planting and planters which were used to define the space – separating the new breakfast bar, which was positioned to look out over the street, from the seating area. The planting was chosen to incorporate the client’s existing potted herbs, and also to provide strong colours, shapes and smells – for example the Lornica, Lavender and Bay trees. We designed and built this project.
